Our breeding program focuses on raising healthy, well-socialized purebred and percentage-bred Valais Blacknose sheep, with thoughtful attention to temperament, conformation, and the characteristics that make this breed so special.

Our Breeding Philosophy
At Heritage Hill Homestead, we believe exceptional sheep begin with thoughtful breeding and attentive care.
We carefully consider health, temperament, genetics, and breed characteristics when planning our pairings. Our goal is to produce beautiful, healthy lambs that reflect the qualities we admire most in the Valais Blacknose breed.
As a family-run homestead, our sheep receive daily attention and interaction. Our two daughters are actively involved in feeding, caring for, and socializing our animals, helping our lambs grow up accustomed to people and everyday farm life.
We're proud to raise sheep that are not only beautiful to look at, but a joy to have in the pasture.

Purebreds
Athena is one of the treasured ladies of Heritage Hill and a beautiful example of everything we love about the Valais Blacknose breed. At five years old, this lovely purebred ewe brings maturity, character, and a special presence to our flock. Having welcomed lambs of her own in the past, Athena holds an important place in our breeding program and in our hearts.

Edward is our striking 100% Valais Blacknose ram and an exciting addition to the future of Heritage Hill. With his impressive appearance and distinctive breed characteristics, he brings wonderful potential to our breeding program. We look forward to seeing the next generation of Heritage Hill lambs and the qualities Edward passes along to his offspring.

Daisy is one of our beautiful F1 Valais Blacknose ewes and a valued member of our breeding program. Having welcomed a set of twins in the spring of 2026, she has already contributed to the next generation of Heritage Hill lambs. Daisy represents an important part of our percentage-bred program as we continue thoughtfully developing our flock.
F1 Valais Ewes
Daisy is one of our beautiful F1 Valais Blacknose ewes and a valued member of our breeding program. Having welcomed a set of twins in the spring of 2026, she has already contributed to the next generation of Heritage Hill lambs. Daisy represents an important part of our percentage-bred program as we continue thoughtfully developing our flock.
F2 Valais Ewes
Oakley is one of those sheep who makes it impossible not to fall in love with the breed. This beautiful F2 ewe has an exceptionally sweet, calm personality and absolutely adores attention, especially a good chin scratch! As the second F2 ewe born here at Heritage Hill, Oakley holds a special place in our hearts. Her gentle nature makes her a wonderful ambassador for our flock. Her dam is Daisy.
Briar is a gorgeous F2 Valais Blacknose ewe and the very first ewe born here at Heritage Hill. With her beautiful, high-quality fleece and wonderfully docile temperament, she embodies so many of the qualities we cherish in our sheep. Briar's calm, affectionate nature makes her a joy to be around, and we're especially proud to have watched her grow up on our homestead. Her dam is Lucy.
